Ten-Groove Pulley Sheaves with Split Taper Bore Bushing
A taper bore bushing, also known as a Taper-Lock bushing, is a mechanical component used to mount rotating equipment such as pulleys, sprockets, and gears to a shaft. It is designed to provide a secure and accurate way of securing a component to a post while allowing easy installation and removal.
The 8V Series ten-groove tape bore bushing shaft is manufactured for 8V and 8V ribbon V-belts. They range in diameter from 12.5 inches to 64.0 inches. Depending on axle size, they are made using U2 or W2 split cone bushings, which we also stock. Most of our dozens of ten-groove 8V split cone shafts are manufactured from high-strength grade 35 cast iron, phosphate coated, and anti-corrosion paint, all of which are balanced in the factory to ensure the smooth running of the machinery.

Advantages Of Taper Bore Bushing:
Easy to install and remove: Unlike other types of bushings that require a press or special tool installation, tapered lock bushings can be installed by simply sliding them onto the shaft and tightening the screws or bolts. This makes it a very convenient choice for applications that need to change components frequently.
Versatility: Can be used for a wide variety of applications. They are commonly used to mount pulleys, sprockets, and gears, but they can also be used to mount other types of rotating equipment, such as fans, pumps, and compressors.
Economy: Conical locking bushings are relatively inexpensive compared to other types of mounting methods. They are also more cost effective than other types of bushings that require special tools or equipment installation.
Easy to replace: Because conical lock sleeves are easy to install and remove, they are also easy to replace. This makes it easy to replace worn or damaged bushings without having to disassemble the entire machine.
Low maintenance: Very little maintenance is required. They do not require lubrication or other types of maintenance that other types of bushings may require.
Minimize downtime: Because tapered lock sleeves are easy to install and remove, they can help minimize downtime in the event of component failure. This is because the faulty part can be easily replaced with a new one without having to disassemble the entire machine.
